Recording & AI Consent.
Last updated September 1, 2026 · Draft version 2026-09-01 · Intended effective date pending launch review
Optional booking-time AI choice
The AI review choice shown before booking is optional and starts unchecked. Selecting it authorizes Vervalio to create a transcript from an otherwise permitted source and process that transcript to generate an AI review for the lesson. If selected for a weekly series, the same choice is recorded for every lesson booked in that series.
The booking-time AI choice does not authorize lesson recording and does not authorize retention of raw transcript text after processing. Recording and transcript retention remain disabled unless separately enabled later. Temporary transcript processing may still be necessary to create the requested review; when retention is disabled, the raw transcript is removed after processing or a terminal failure.
Do not record or capture another participant outside Vervalio's approved flow. Every participant must receive the notices and choices required by applicable law before recording or comparable monitoring starts.
What AI review processing does
When enabled, Vervalio may use an approved lesson transcript to generate learning feedback such as summaries, vocabulary, grammar observations, suggested corrections, and follow-up practice. A transcript may come from an instructor-submitted transcript, a meeting transcript, an approved speech-to-text provider, or a separately consented recording-derived source.
AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. It is a learning aid and must not be treated as a factual personal assessment or as professional, legal, medical, employment, or immigration advice.
Withdrawal, retention, and deletion
Consent may be withdrawn for future processing through the lesson review controls made available by Vervalio. Withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful. When transcript storage is disabled or consent is withdrawn, stored raw transcript text is removed according to the service workflow, while a structured review already completed from a consented transcript may remain unless deletion is legally required.
Financial, security, consent, and audit records may be retained separately where needed to protect users, demonstrate choices, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Retention schedules and region-specific deletion rights must be finalized before launch.
Providers and sensitive information
Consented transcript or audio data may be sent to a configured meeting, speech-to-text, storage, or AI provider only as needed for the selected feature. Vervalio's OpenAI review-generation request uses store: false. The speech-to-text request does not use that same setting, so this draft does not claim that all provider-side storage or abuse-monitoring is disabled. Provider terms and retention practices must be confirmed before launch. See the Privacy Policy.
Participants should not share passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, health records, or other unnecessary sensitive information during lessons. If such information is disclosed accidentally, contact [email protected].
Launch notice
This consent explanation is a product and policy draft. The exact consent text, age rules, provider list, retention periods, privacy contact, and jurisdiction-specific recording requirements require review by qualified counsel before public launch.
